Mike grew up in Salinas, California where he spent a lot of time boating with family on Lake Nacimiento, where they had a cabin. He also had a cabin at Lake Tahoe and started water skiing at 10 years old. Mike moved to Stockton, California to be able to pursue his passion for water skiing and boating. Eventually, Mike became the VP of Westmar Marine Insurance and after the company sold in 2010, he started his career in Yacht Sales.

Mike worked as the Yacht Sales Manager at a large dealership, overseeing 3 locations with 8-10 salespeople until 2023. In 2013, Mike transitioned from retail sales/brokerage to exclusively brokerage of boats. Over the years, Mike has owned various types of boats including yachts, houseboats, offshore, ski boats, pontoons, and center consoles.

Mr. Garner has been coming to Florida for over 40 years and recently purchased a home on the water in Pompano Beach in 2023, with no plans to leave. Mike chose to join Affiniti Yacht Brokerage because of one person, our Broker Craig Travis, who has fostered a family-like environment within the brokerage since 1997.
